Boeing successfully rolled out what's called the "Top Four-Fifths" of the core stage for the Artemis III moon rocket from the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Why it matters: This is the first time Boeing's Space Launch System program has shipped a core stage without its engine section, a change aimed at accelerating production for future Artemis missions.
"Moving the Top Four-Fifths shows how our production process improvements drive faster, more coordinated execution," says Mike Cacheiro, vice president and program manager for Boeing's Space Launch System program.
