Rocket Lab completes payload integration for JAXA Kakushin Rising mission

Story Brief

Rocket Lab says payload integration and encapsulation are complete at Launch Complex 1 for Kakushin Rising, an Electron rideshare for JAXA scheduled no earlier than April 23.

The mission carries eight spacecraft for JAXA, giving Rocket Lab another dedicated government customer launch while Japan tests smallsat, ocean-monitoring, multispectral imaging, and deployable-antenna payloads.

Rocket Lab describes Kakushin Rising as its second dedicated Electron mission for JAXA's Innovative Satellite Technology Demonstration Program, placing the flight inside Japan's broader smallsat demonstration pipeline.

The payload mix is operationally useful because it combines education, maritime monitoring, camera technology, and deployable structures on one mission. For Rocket Lab, the near-term signal is repeat government work from the same civil-space customer.
